# Getting Started

> Get up and running with Devin in your environment.

The federal platform uses a dedicated portal, hosted in an accredited environment via Palantir FedStart. The portal enables access to layered team settings, usage analytics, and user management. This is also where you can install Devin products for different distributions. Your account team will work with you to set up authentication and access.

Once you have access to the portal, you can start using Devin. A breakdown of where you can use the different offerings is available [here](/federal/compliance). Please reach out to your account team if you have any questions or would like a live walkthrough.

## Feature availability

Due to additional compliance requirements, not all features in commercial Devin Desktop are available in federal Devin Desktop. A list of commercial features that are **not** available in federal deployments of Devin Desktop can be found below.

| Devin Cloud integrations | Cloud agent features like review, cloud/local toggle, intro cards, and agent window.              |
| Custom ACP agents        | Register and use third-party/remote agent connectors in the agent selector.                       |
| MCP servers              | Add MCP servers, create prompt templates, and make calls.                                         |
| Managed terminal         | Terminal selection is "managed" by default.                                                       |
| Voice input in Cascade   | Microphone button in Cascade input footer to record transcription to be inserted into the editor. |
| Web app deployments      | "Deploy" action in Cascade header menu for sandbox and team app deployments.                      |
| Install Devin CLI        | "Install Devin CLI" action in the desktop app command palette.                                    |
| Lifeguard                | Safety/guardrail feature shown in settings page and Cascade editor input.                         |
| In-app announcements     | Announcement banners inside the IDE.                                                              |
| Smart Friend             | A cheap model asks a "smarter" model to help.                                                     |
| Credit cost display      | Credit cost shown in the Cascade response toolbar after each turn.                                |
